... well nearly!!

My car got snowed in this morning (Bristol) so thought i would make the most of it and took a quick walk. Grabbed the camera on the way out and managed to take a few photos before the battery died!!

I will learn from my mistake now ALWAY have fresh batteries in the camera!!

Emailed the photographs in to the local bbc website and managed to get one of them in the gallery!! YAY

Its not the best of photo but its the "Police Stop Sign Photo"

Yep Bristol is a winter wonderland today, the cat went out for its morning ablutions and actually disappeared in a drift at one point

Not a very happy cat!

Are they gpoing to pay you for it?

The BBC do SELL these pictures that are sent to them around the world you know...they are building a nice, free, library that they are making money out of.

Do you get a reduction in your license fee if you submit?

Just something to think on.

There's a BIG difference between sending shots to the BBC for their gallery and being a bona-fide press photographer.

The BBC are terrible, they take your shots, use them without paying and use them as much as they want for as long as they want. Most of the time they won't even credit you.

They don't even need to bother paying for professional shots from agencys like AP, they can just get free ones from random people who have cameras so it's just hurting the industry.

Lensflare - Chances of them paying for that shot? Zero.

Thats what i thought, there was no chance of me asking for some money of them. I just thought it would be nice to have something on the net. All i asked was for them to credit me and they did. So i cant complain!!

It is killing the industry though, they should have to pay for the images but there is always going to people from the public that will send in the photos for free (like me this time :shake:)

The BBC received something like 20,000 emails of snow photos the other day. It's insane. Anyone with a camera these days just sends their stuff in.

That is crazy, well lucky me to get selected out of 20,000!!

That is true, im not overly happy with the photo (as i said batteries died) but i thought i would send it in anyway.

The roads have started to freze here again so it could be interesting in the morning. I think i will have to find a nice big hill and see if anything happens.
