Got my interview for The Ship's Photographer on Wednesday.

I've got my suit, my portfolio and 2 personal references sorted for it. :D

Would any of you recommend taking anything else down with me?

Out of interest if you are able to, which cruise line is it.
I've sailed on several as a passenger.

I'm not sure yet, they commision photographers for a few different lines so could be any one of them.

camera kit in case they decide to try you out, just a guess though.
Good Luck, you don't need it though :D

<edit apologies for using the word though twice in two lines>

Hey buddy

Will be thinking of you mate, make sure you let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed.
Dont forget to tell them that you will need holiday...5th September...for my wedding!

Mike

Best of luck, hope it goes well for you!

cheers everyone :)
and mike i'm not gonna forget it dont worry! haha

Suit, portfolio AND your personality id all you normally need. Your approach and personality are most important (after sound photography skills obviously). Don't mean to teach you to suck eggs but...... don't be afraid to ask questions yourself. It shows you're interested and confident.

Good luck. I did a stint for quite a while around the Galapagos Islands and don't regret it for a second.

Could you rephrase that considering it's on a ship?? :p

Good luck mate!

Just finished putting my portfolio together and must say i'm very happy with myself!

a list of questions in your head is always good as it shows interest in the role. know alot of info will be given in the interview but Qs are always good.

also a copy of your portfolio on CD in case they want a copy to keep or pass on to potential clients (with watermarks of course)

good luck

Excellent - just remember to take that happy feeling with you, don't let nerves take over!

Good luck - I'm sure you will do great

Just got back and it went well, the others guys who were being interviewed were real nice and the operations manager was a brilliant guy.

Very pleased to say I got a call from them today and I have been successful :D

Congratulations :D

I've seen some advertised before, you had to buy a Nikon camera off them when you started...which seemed a bit daft if you already own the gear!

That's great news Marcus, congratulations! I'll bet you're chuffin stoked, eh?

Well chuffed! Now I've just gotta get the stuff together I need and I'm ready!

great stuff!

Well done.

Drinks on you then?

Well done mate. wish I was young enough to apply. Just enjoy it all, life passes too quickly.
