Equipment: Canon 1D Mark IIn, 100-400L, Acratech GV2 ballhead and Wimberley Sidekick, mostly on perching birds.
I'm still undecided whether I should be turning the IS off or leaving it on. When used with a gimbal it is more stable than hand-held but still capable of slight movement i.e. user tremor.
Does the IS mechanism "fight" against the lens stability as it would do on a tripod?
The AF with IS on is no slouch but it is slightly faster with IS turned off.
