Image stabilisation

I currently have a Nikon Z6ii with a couple of Z lenses, the FTXZ
adapter and a couple of FX lenses. I enjoy using the camera but as age
and an increasingly shaky hold make image stabilisation not just a
nice extra but essential for me. I wondered, therefore, if there is a
camera system with better/more effective image stabilisation that I should be
considering.
I shoot mainly urban and street photography as well as
occasional landscapes. I use a mobility scooter to go longer distances
and when doing so carting a tripod around is a bit cumbersome.
Any advice you can offer would be gratefully received.

using a faster shutter speed doesn't solve the shake?

Hi Charles, I dont speak from direct experience, but a good friend of mine recently bought into the Olympus Micro 4/3rds system, and seems to make a point of telling me how good the image stabalisation is at every opportunity. He has the EM1 - Mark 3 I believe. Might be worth a look.

Are you aware of these people?

It looks as if they could give you some practical help.

Personally, I recommend increasing the iso to obtain a faster shutter speed, and a monopod/tripod than purchasing another camera system as there won't be a great difference.

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe getting a Z lens with VR would do the trick. Must say that when I look at all the Nikon gear I’ve accrued the thought of swapping systems is a bit daunting but if it really was going to provide me with more assurance ……I will try the increased ISO.

The Panasonic Lumix M43 system has excellent stabilisation, probably the best.
A G9 can be found for around £400, then whatever lenses you require, Power OIS lenses give dual stabilisation, using the lens stabilisation coupled to the body stabilisation.
