Hi,

I noticed something today about an image I posted as i got mixed reviews from this forum as to how bright my image was.

Take a look here (shameless plug i know ;))

When I view the image in IE it looks a lot brighter and closer to my original image in PS but when i look using chrome, the image is a lot less bright.

Can anyone else confirm this happens with them? If so why do you think this is?

I assume IE has it right and chrome has not as like I said the image looks much closer to how it looks on my computer in IE.

Thoughts?

Cheers
Trevor

actually..here is the image to make things easier.

This is not for crit so don't hate on my for posting in this forum :)

The main reason i post this is that i feel the difference between the two browsers is so noticeable for me that it could affect how people view the image and the difference between good feedback and not so good feedback.

It also looks better in IE rather than Firefox. To me anyhow.

Dont notice a difference in colours but the when looking on google chrome the buildings look further away than ie, really dont know why though.

The image looks exactly the same to me with Firefox and IE. I don't have Chrome on this computer, so can't see if that is different.

As has been said, it is normally a Colourspace problem between Browsers. I think FF was one of the first Browsers to recognise and display the correct colourspace.

A simple way to check if that was the problem save an image in Adobe RGB and sRGB on post them on the internet to see which Browser, if any, displays each image correctly.

colourspace

Yes. There are many, many other threads of a similar nature on this forum.

IE8 isn't colour managed.

IE9 is (at long last).

Chrome does a tacky job of it.

Always upload as sRGB when posting for the web or your colours may not look right.
