Hi, just a question on Japanese imports, duty and Tax etc.
Has anyone on here done it?
I'm after a used Pentax 67 or 6x7 used, not many within EU come up so looking at possibility of buying from Japan.

Not really sure how duty and tax payments are made and at what point in the process to who.
Cheers.

I've used a company called Tenso before. There is some initial documentation to provide to prove you are who you say you are, but it works out well. Basically they provide an address in Japan you can send items to (I purchased a new release camera body from Amazon.jp) and they will send it on to you from there. They were very helpful, and even opened the box to make sure the battery was loaded correctly for international shipping. Overall I was very impressed with the service and will use them again if I ever need to order from Japan again.

Ok, think I've done something similar as a seller on eBay. I'll have a look into that, cheers.

I too have used Tenso for shipping and highly recommend them. Very smooth process. You pay VAT & Duty to Royal Mail when the item arrives in the UK.

think vat will be 20%, and a likely 8quid or so handling fee

i think theres a import fees calc online or was? try google
