importing RAW files

Please excuse me for if this sounds daft, but whenever i connect my camera to my laptop, it's picasa that extracts the files, which was ok, but now i want to shoot in RAW it won't accept them. I'v installed the software (canon pro ver.1.5) for this but it still tries to take them via picasa, so how do i change it?

Right click on one of the raw files in windows explorer and it should say "open with" Change it to the program you want and it should open in it.
 
What version of Windows are you using?

In Windows 7 & Vista there is an option in control panel to set a default action when media is connected. This might be set to automatucally import images using Picasa.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Autoplay

Check what the option is set to for Pictures.
Either set it to import using the Canon software or set to ask every time to give you the choice.
