inconsistent disc

This warning came up on start up this morning and it ran through some sort of program before it went through normal startup ,not the best of description at the moment It's the best I can do anyone come across this in their computer travels

It was similar ,I'm on Windows vista home premium though .

Did you have an abnormal shutdown - i.e. not start/shutdown?

Yeh I did,had a few crashes lately.

That'll be why then. Nothing to worry about unless it starts happening regularly with no real explanation.

Just be aware if the disc is old(ish) it could be a problem in the making - make sure you have a good backup.

And just to reinforce gramps' excellent point, you should be backing up anyway and not waiting for incipient problems

Nope not that old ,prob about 13 months i reckon
