Info Cardiff Airport

right mid august im off to llandow camping and i know cardiff airport is 2 mins away

where can i go and is there maps etc , is there a proper viewing area , any info will be appreciated

i have 3 days down so will be spending a good few hours there

RAF St Athan is close by too as well as Llandow race circuit but that is poor for tog opportunities

I don't know Cardiff, but day is highly likely to be best.

If you look up the official Cardiff airport website you'll probably see arrivals/departures listed. That'll give an idea of what happens.

yes i know all too well about llandow circuit if i wasnt going on holiday to meet the family in august i would of been racing there in 2 weeks time

and yes not too good for shots there

Never tried myself, but the best place i would have thought is follow the signs to the main terminal at the roundabout there should be a sign to either Rhoose or Fontygary.

This road goes right past the end of the runway, there used to be a layby with cars parked against the fence...

Not sure with current security whether this is still allowed...

Also check out Southerndown beach (Badwolf bay in Dr Who) thats not far away or Nash point lighthouse.
