Hi All,

I have come into some camera equipment.

I am a bit perplexed about what it all is and what it all does!

Secondly I am a student currently trying to put myself through University: i do not want to sell any equipment but I may have to to fund my course.

I have taken 80 or so photographs of the equipment and would be most grateful for comments and to find out exactly what it all is! (And perhaps what things are worth).

Please feel free to move this if it is in the wrong forum.

What is the best way to upload the photographs?

Upload them to your gallery here and copy and paset the second edit box of text to show the image in a thread, or pload to Photobucket or other image hosting site and copy the relevant IMG code and paste into a thread here.

Are we talking old film equipment, darkroom equipment or what?

It’s just a load of old stuff - I’ll give you 50 quid for it.

Just joking! Wow! A collector’s dream.
 
Can't give you very much specific advice, Dave, but some of it (the Weston Master exposure meters, for example) takes me back to my early days of my photograph in the mid/late sixties and you have a fair bit of interesting items.

IIRC Leica cameras have a serial number which can be used to identify them to the year of manufacture. Some early Leicas in good condition are worth a lot, but many do not fetch much. IMO that is a travesty for such iconic cameras.

I suggest you take the lot to a couple of places that specialise in antique and classic cameras and get some estimates of the value.

You should post it on the Leica forum (l-camera-forum) they might be able to give you a better idea of its total worth.

Final offer £65.....

I already have a Weston Master V - invaluable back in the days before the camera told you everything. Bought for me by my wife and was a few weeks’ wages back then.

Best of luck if you do decide to sell. I reckon the collection represents a fair bundle of cash. As already mentioned you need some expert classic equipment guru to advise you.
 
I would have a word with Ffordes as they are one of the leading companies in the UK with Leica equipment, they will be able to tell you more and also be able to sell the equipment for you should it need be
 
The best way to get an idea is type the make of lens/camera in on ebay save the ones shown and the finish price will show up when its sold this should give you a current price :D

Or you just select "completed listings" under the search options and you don't need to wait.. ..

But this type of collection would be better for a specialist to look at rather than the fickle whims of Ebay.
 
Hi, you have some valuable gear there, for instance I see you have a couple of summicron lenses, they will fetch good money, for instance a 35/2 not long ago fetched over 2K on ebay, the leica r lenses are nowhere near as valuable or sought after, please be careful not to get ripped off, if you want some good advice nip over to http://forum.mflenses.com/ and say hello, what some of the guys on there no is nothing short of amazing.
