Need help please from someone who knows computers as I'm a tad thick when it comes to technology.

I have recently built my own webpage and was going to have the google adsense on it but I need to verify my page with them by uploading an html they supply but I'm not succeding. Just wondering if any of you have done this and could shed some light on it for me please.

Do you have access to the html files for your website? And do you have an FTP program for transfering your html files to your webserver where your website sits?

Or, did you build the site through an online site builder?

online site builder, is that bad? I just wanted ways to get my site more noticed to be honest. Thanks for replying quickly.

The problem with some online site builders is that you don't get access to the source code, which is what you need to be able to do if you're going to cut and paste the Google code into it. Have you set up a Google Analytics account yet? You need a gmail account, which is completely free. All instructions are there when you log into Google Analytics.

I don't know much about online site builders, so can't give you a definite answer.

I've never heard of google analytics, what is it?

It analyses all aspects of your web site like visitors and bounce rate and lots more.

Google Analytics and Adsense work together, you can use Analytics to figure out how well or how badly your ads are doing, lets you optimise income and also gives you suggestions on how to generate more revenue, but that is about 10% of what Analytics does. Worth taking a look, both can be used on their own btw, but do different things. Adsense for revenue, Analytics for site and search optimisation.
