Right, basically im currently undertaking the second unit of AS photography and have to many ideas. Although that may sound good, I need to start focusing my research and development.
So far ive gone down the route of experimenting with the length of a shutter speed and looking at the effects I can create. Ive been using four different techniques but am needing to limit them down a little.
1) Freezing Time - Basically involves chucking objects at the camera and capturing them in mid-flight. I,e Playing cards. Ive had ideas to develop this onto the idea of street magic and capturing some cool effects.
2) Light graffiti - Seems to be very popular in my group at the moment, but ive decided to do it with a little twist. Rather than doing the basic outdoors shots (which for me never seem to turn out right), ive set up a area in the house where I wave some lights around objects such as wine bottles creating a different selection of effects.
3) Creating ghosts with a long shutter. Had a idea to create a crime scene with the ghost of the dead watching over a body. I think these turned out quite well, just needing to find a better photographic spot.
4) and smoke photography, which I love, but have now ruled out.
Now here is the problem. Ive got ideas for 1, 2 and 3 but have been told that I need to focus my project. I have had a talk with one of my photography teachers who likes the ghost effects but could see the indoor light graffiti being used in a promotional way to perhaps create a set of advertisements for a alcopop.
What suggestions does anyone else have? Any ideas which I can use that perhaps use a few of the above ideas? Any relevant photographers I can research to get a clearer understanding?
Thanks,
Adam
