After a second consecutive mess up by a well known online printer I have decided to change to a local print house. As part of their offering they recommend the down load and installation of Frontier_KodakSupra_1 printer profile.

I have downloaded and installed this into \windows\system32\spool\drivers\colour folder as instucted.

However when I open an image in CS3 and go to Edit and Covert to profile the new profile is not available on the profile list.

Can anyone offer any help please?

Thanks:)

You need to have the profile installed on the computer. To do this right click on the profile and select " Install"

Thanks John. That is exactly what I did to install the profile. What I don't understand is why I cannot find it in CS3.

You seem to have done everything right. Stupid question, you have restarted Photoshop ?

I notice you used the "colour " description as to the folder you loaded the profile into. The correct folder is color without the U. This may simply be a typo on your part, but if you do have a folder "colour" this might be a problem as Photoshop wont look there

However believe it or not but profiles can have two names. The first is the file name that you see in the color folder. The other is it's internal description name. These are not always the same.

When you look for this profile in Photoshop, you are looking for the internal name . That's the one Photoshop uses. Look to see if there is an odd looking profile name. If you are not sure then uninstall this profile and see if any of the odd names disappear. If it does this is the one you are looking for, reinstall it and try again.

If the problem persists, go to the Ilford web site and download one of their paper profiles as a test. Do exactly as you have done and see if you can see the Ilford paper profile in Photoshop

Here's a link

File names and profile names are the same. Don't worry about filling details they don't bombard you with e-shots or similar

If you are still having problems let me know where you got the profile from and I'll see if I can reproduce the problem, plus I can have a look at the internal description of the profile to see if that yields anything

Hi John. That was the problem, the installed profile has a totally different name. All sorted now.
Thanks
