Instore shutter count - Nikon D300

Short of taking a laptop with Opanda on it with you, the only way is to reply on the image number of the last photo taken. To be honest if you're getting the camera at the right price it shouldn't be an issue...

I don't think there is an easy way without having a jpeg and a PC.

Why not take in a memory card, take a few test shots (jpeg is easier), then at home download pictures and Opanda Iexif and that will tell you the shutter count. Or, ask the shop to email you a test photo?

ok no worries, just thought i would check first. i will take laptop with me in the car,

it takes cf cards doesn't it?

Exactly, it's unlikey to have 50,000 clicks on it

yeah... even if someone's motor driven it for a few minutes solid in the shop, it's still not going to have any amount of clicks to genuinely worry about on it...

people on classifiedss / ebay tend to use clicks as a kind of 'odometer' to show how much the camera's been used etc, rather than 'it's done 2500 shots so you've got 97,500 left...'

bit extreme isn;t it?

if the price is right who cares?

Well i guess that would depend on if you were buying new or used, if i'm buying new i wouldn't expect it to have any.

Even buying new you can get one with up to 200 clicks as it might have been one of the batch tested models.
But if its in the box you should be cool, if its off the display shelf then you would expect a discount anyway.
