Just got home to find we've been burgled. They left the brand new TV in box, the X box, The ipod on the table, the car keys, the laptops, the two expensive bikes and numerous guitars. They just took my camera.

I'm still feeling lucky rather than gutted, but I'm off to paris in 11 days, any chance they will pay out before then? the last claim was for flood damage and that took over three months!

I'm really suprised, the scum round here don't seem the type to be into photography?

Had mine quickly. Day 1 send fax with receipts. Day 2 got call from their supplier. They had stock but took cash alternative. 3 days for bank xfr. Day 6 in jessops new camera in hand. Get the cash alternative if possible as the insurer paid there supplier rates and not high street. The high street was a good 20% cheaper even with the xs taken off and didn't have to depend on couriers.

Police know, I'm going to contact the local pawn shops and second hand camera shop tomorrow, fortunately its quite an unusual camera, Its a Nikon D90 (not that unusual) but with a 30-70mm zoom from the early 80's on it. Should be easy for someone to spot and rare that it would be replicated in that combo! At least they left all my other lenses, so I only need a body.

Were they disturbed? (I'm not refering to their mental status)

I find it very strange that they never took the Ipod? Even the lowest level scumbag would have taken the Ipod, it's a highly sellable item.

Is it possible they were only after the camera? It is possible you have taken pics of someone recently up to no good without realising.
