I haven't read the full article yet but I did have a quick look at the conclusion. I've owned both the D300 and the 7D and in my limited experience I've found the 7D just (and I do mean just) pips the D300.
As the D300s is pretty much the same camera...
For me the D300 feels a lot better in the hand, it's got a great build quality and you can literally feel it. Whilst I would never have tested it out I reckon it could take a serious fall and keep on ticking.
The dual card slot will also be of great use to some people.
But the real winning feature is the auto-focus.
With the 7D the first thing I noticed was the layout of the controls, I find it really simple to use. Add to that the blistering frame rate and the 100% viewfinder and you have a winner.
However the build quality (whilst excellent) isn't the same as the D300. One niggle in particular is the eye cup and the CF card door.
When I was picking a new camera system a few weeks back I went with the 7D, what really pushed me was Canon lenses after all that's where you will have to spend your money well.
