It's more aimed at Togs that shoot anything and everything, the stats for SLR prices are a bit biased though, yes there are a few different systems out now but a Tog won't be using a camera below the value of $450 (this doesn't even include the cost of lenses and ancillaries etc)
It just appears that it's over hyped and out to worry people when they don't need to, if you're good at what you do then there's no need to worry.
The tog's that call themselves professional doing sub £100 wedding packages soon dissapear into the abyss because of overheads and not working out the entirety of expenses, kit funds etc so in a way this regulates the market as people understand that you can't get quality on the cheap in this line of work. It's like going to a Bentley dealership and asking for a Conti GT for £20k, it just won't happen and if it's does then it's too good to be true
