This is a plea for help, does anyone know of an interval timer that can trigger multiple cameras (initially 3x Nikon d3100) with an interval of less than a second (ideally in the range of 0.2-0.5 second). I cannot find a system that can trigger multiple cameras or where the interval is less than a second.

Thanks

You could try a Yongnou MC-36R with a few receivers. The bit I am not sure of though is the less than 1s interval rate with a D3100.

Its easy with a D300/D700 as you can set the interval timer to say 1s and then set the camera to Continuous L on the shooting mode dial, then set the L rate to say 3 fps which depending on your shutter speed with give you the kind of intervals you need.

Thanks for the suggestions, I don't really want to use radio triggers as the set up will be used in an area which suffers from radio interference.

The triggertrap is a good suggestion I have a v1, this has a minimum frequency of 1hz, but it might be possible to tweak the code? However the phone dongle seems to let you set a number of images and a time frame to take them, so no minimum frequency. I did not realise that you can simply use a audio splitter, to run multiple cameras - Thanks for the link.
