As usual, I was armed with the long lens and
wanting to take some marsh birds.

Suddenly, from the reeds at the other end of
the marsh, these two lost freaks rushed in to
enjoy wet feet —I don't see any other reason!

This invasion scared all the birds away in an
surprising and very noisy disorder. Since I had
nothing else to shoot, I shot them. Once they
exited the same way they came, the birds were
all back and the
marsh was quiet again.

They made it a round trip so I hope
it was enough for them!
 
There is a fair chance this is pre-rutting behaviour
Roe deer rut is normally mid July but prior to that the males start to become territorial and chase other males out of their territory.,
as these are 2 males I would say there is a fair chance that it what's happening, in preparation for the females coming into season
