iPad 2 = iPad 1 + a couple cameras

iPad 3 will be the biz at the end of the year.

Not really. I like my ipad as it is and really don't need another device with cameras in it! My iphone 4 does the video chat thing in a much better format. Will be interesting to see what OS 4.3 holds though.
 
Don't thing this will offer much for current ipad owners to upgrade.

A couple of cameras, more memory and fast cpu, all nice but not enough to convince me to upgrade.

I'm interested in seeing how light they can make it. Big plus point for the kindle is it is very light and easy to hold for a lenghty period.

All that said, I'm still secretly hoping that Stevie boy can pull of some surprise.

This is what I think to, can possibly see the idea behind a front facing number for video chat/skype, but beyond that I really can't see the obsession with people thinking or saying they need a "proper" camera in anything and everything they can hold in their hands.

As for 4.3.. I'm still on 4.1 through laziness of seeing if I can jailbreak anything newer to keep on having access to SBSettings or whatever it's called :lol:

Extra camera is useful if you skype a lot and have enough ion the tablet to leave a laptop at home.

Either that or a must have for chaters who chat whilst on the toilet :yuk:

Rumour is he may come back for this event.

The whole ipad 3 rumour is something I would take with a pinch of salt for now.

Sure it will be an improvement on the last one, but not enough to make those who already have one to upgrade. Will probably make me want one even more tho.

Looking like mobile me is getting a big upgrade which is interesting as I have been toying with going to this for a while now.

So many rumours have flown about some will be true and some will be rubbish but we will all know tonight.

I can't wait.
 
im soooo out of the loop, i had no idea this was going to be announced today till i saw this thread.

I think you're all missing the boat here with a camera added. Alright im sure skype and what not will use it and no doubt you'll be able to do facetime on it etc., all of which makes me yawn

BUT ....

Now that I have a 19 month old little girl who uses my iPad all the time for educational apps, there are going to be some very interesting uses of a camera in it for education. There is going to be augmented reality apps where the camera turns the person into some medieval knight or what not, and all other kinds of crazyness.

They'll be video recording apps where parents can record clips to put into vocabulary learning applications and sentences etc that children have to learn. I think the power of the camera will be in the education and gaming apps that will develop from people with very creative minds!

I'll probably get a second one so that I can just get my 1st one back out of the grubby hands of my kids!!!

I think that the iPad3 will be a smaller version so i don't think it will count.

I have my credit card ready, but i have a feeling that it will not be on sale for a few months..!

Rumours saying ipad 2 will be released in the uk early april. Production has already started and apple are making 6million units a month
 
want to see price tag of it ;D

It's funny, I remember a year ago we were having debates about whether the ipad would be successful or not and I just had a read through one of the first few threads these are some of the comments:

I don't think it will be the runaway success that the iPhone was/is

But I really think the iPad is going to be major fail.

to which i replied

You reckon? If in a years time you are wrong can I say "I told you so?"

Ha ha, what a jerk I am, but i do get to say I told you so!

i tried some of the other tablets on the market whilst shopping around in the airport the other day and they all just felt tacky and crappy

I just really hope that once they will announce it, it will force prices of other tablets to go down!
specially interested in Xoom, galaxy tab 10.1 and HP tablet ( I have to say I do like webOS!)

its funny, apple haters can't just admit that something is awesome if it has an apple logo it. Instead you'd rather assume that people are stupid and will buy whatever steve jobs tell them to - which is actually quite insulting to the people who buy their products.

Not everything apple make is a sucess actually - the things that are crap dont sell, the things that are great do. It's just that they happen to make more things that are great than things that are crap. simples
 
I think Apple are just on the verge of over saturating the market in every aspect of what they do.

Computers, phones, laptops and tablets. Too many, too quickly.

No, no... The ipad is a nice piece of kit. It's expensive, but nice. What is so funny to us "haters" (and I don't hate, I just think there is better value/more configurability elsewhere) is the almost religious fanaticism that greets Apple products and their launch. And the religious belief that Apple sprinkle pixie dust on their machines as Apples are clearly faster than other OS machines when the share the same hardware.... ;)

It's like you're all travelling to Cupertino for the Apple equivalent of the Hajj ;) :D

Their hardware sales are a method of tying you in to software sales... That's their real money maker.
 
when does the Microsoft tablet come out :p

after all there is more Microsoft sheep than Apple sheep :lol: so in theory they will have the market sown up :lol: just like Windows :bang:

im not apple hater....i hate their pricing and life span of their equipment ...

never said they stuff is rubbish as it is not

am myself using apple keyboard :lol:

I will be the first to admit I was wrong about this one. Initially I did not see a use for me but after getting one as part of some testing we were doing at work, you'll have to drag the thing from my cold dead hands! It's complimentary to my laptop - I can use it on short (1 or 2 day) business trips and leave the laptop at home. Right now, I am sitting in a hospital waiting to take my wife home. All I need is email to keep in touch with work, web to watch Ireland kick our asses at cricket and my TP app for reading the forum :)

a very tiny percentage of the people who own an ipad today fall into the category you describe above. The majority of people who own an ipad is because they think it is great, not because apple told them its great, consumers in mass are an intelligent market, a product will only be a success if it is good.
