any image resizer's for the ipad that will do a lot in one go
 
Do you want to resize images on the iPad or for the iPad?
 
i would like to resize them on the ipad after there uploaded via the sd card camera adaptor
 
There are a couple of Apps on the App store that will do it but as far as I know they tend to be one at a time , rather than batch. I tend to use Lightroom to re render images that are going onto the iPad. It's quick and easy. You could look at doing similar via an action within Photoshop. Alternative Ifranview has a resize option which can be configured as a batch operation.

i have a program for resizing them on my pc at home but i wanted something that i could use on the ipad to resize when away from home etc
looks like i can set my camera to raw + a jpeg of any size i want so may go down that route
 
Not sure how the iPad would handle that. With RAW it uses the embedded JPEG within the RAW file to display on the screen. How it handles both I've no idea.

However I've a 1Dsmk3 and it loads these large files fairly quickly from the SD card reader. Loading via the camera takes longer. You may find that as it's using the RAW's JPEG it may be fast enough for you and you don't need to bother with RAW+JPEG. Easiest way is to give it a try
