iPad battery life

Just a quick poll to those lucky ones already who've got the iPad,

Apple state the iPad will last all day - so around presumably 10-12 hours.

What are you finding the bettery life is in the real world ?

Easily 10 hours of wifi. The battery is awesome

Hi,

I find I can get about 10 and a half hours before I get complete shutdown and then have to charge it. Most other websites that have reviewed the iPad seem to mention about how conservative the battery life is to what's officially stated on the Apple website.

Absolutely brill - agree with Joe about the 10 hours... and thats without tweaking brightness or anything.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the battery. I charge mine about twice a week with daily useage. Also surprised at how little it uses when switched off; even after a whole day not using it, it will have only dropped by about 1-2%!

Superb.... don't let battery performance worry you at all.

Am I missing the point, or should I be surprised it uses anything when switched off?

My car uses no diesel when switched off.
My TV uses no electricity when switched off
My Camera uses no battery when switched off.

It's not actually off, just asleep, apps can still run with push and clocks etc.

was just having a play........ I thought Steve Jobs had created something really special...... a computer that sups energy whilst switched off.......

I charge mine every day.....although I've only run it down once after I'd had it streaming Radio 4 LW all day over 3G.

mine's the 3g model. I didnt charge it for 2 nights, and last night I was down to about 13% charge.

I used it for at least 3 hours each day - so pretty fair useage.
