iPhone as wireless trigger

So they took Software that is already bundled with Canons, and stuck it on an Iphone and want to charge you $9.99 for the priviledge of using your free software.
Someone out there is making a fortune and it sure aint me. lol

Hardly :cuckoo:

You're completely at liberty to use the 'free' software that came with the Camera whether you buy this software or not. If however, you want to make use of the free software via your iPhone when you're not sitting directly in front of your laptop, you can use this software and pay the guys for their time and effort.

In all honesty it would not take much to port the Mac version to Iphone.
However i just noticed it can be used with my Ipod Touch so i will happily concede that its worth $9.99.
Might be one amazing utility for birds, set up and go sit far away and watch them on the ipod and shoot.

It's £5.99 on iTunes and to be honest I think it's done that way as it's very easy to make money with a good app via iTunes, even if they do take 30% of the cost.

I might give this a go this week, it's cheaper than one of those remote self timers as well.

Someone on here was on about that last week (minds gone blank).

can some1 explain the app to me, do you have to have the camera connected to your computer before you can then link up your iphone to it? Or can you buy a wireless receiver or something that plugs into your camera which sends a signal to your iphone and then you can control your camera :S im very confused about it all

Why do they never make these things for WM phones, it's not like there's a magnitude more of those out there...

(Having said that the need for a computer to use it with sort of removes the point...)

Ive just had a closer look at this.
It does now look pretty pointless as you still need a computer.
Its easy enough just to buy a very very long USB cable and do the same thing.
