So as my contract was up for renewal, I've upgraded my 5s to a 6s. The question is, how much better is the camera!?
 
@Sir SR front facing camera is 5mp on 6s up from 1mp on your 5s so a good upgrade perfect for selfies ;-) and at low light the 6s is considerably better not sony a7s quality like but better ;-) its a good upgrade you will like it
 
Main camera is also better, with 12mp, compared to the 5s's 8mp. Don't also forget, you now also have 4k video capability.

You'll also find the processing quicker, so will help with photography, as well as general use.

Why are we all concentrating on MP? It's pretty meaningless!

More importantly, the sensor IQ and lens are very much improved from the 5, and the software cleans up the small sensor / lens issues better than previous iPhones (mainly in the areas of CA and other tweaks).

The thing that impresses me most about the 6s is the ability to shoot video at 240fps, now that's fun :) However, no iPhone has the memory capacity to make shooting 4K practical. I really don't see the point in a phone shooting 4K, just a marketing gimmick IMO.

Still very awkward and soulless to use though :)

Shaheed, asked a question, I gave him an answer. Whilst I agree, regarding the whole MP race, it's a bit silly to state that 12 over 8 is meaningless. :rolleyes: There are advantages to having those extra pixels.

Disagree about the 4K and storage. Given that 30 minutes of 4K, is roughly 12 gig, there's plenty of room on the the 64 gig and 128 gig iphone 6s.

...my figures worked out slightly heftier (24gb for 30 mins) but still, I won't be shooting much 4K on my 16gb version :)

375MB per minute, so 11250MB (around 11GB) for 30 minutes.

That's got to be compressed? Still either way, I won't be shooting much 4K video on my 16gb version!

That said, I don't have a 4K TV anyway. So it would still be pointless even with a 128gb model.

I'm really impressed by the camera on my 6s, leaps and bounds (in the usual internet hyperbole way) ahead of the 5 it replaced. It's got a good lens, HDR is great and is pretty decent in low light for a camera phone, biggest problem is actually that the phone is a little big for me to use one handed (although not impossible by any means).
 
viewing Iphone 6 photos on the photos app on the 5K macs,they do look very very good,though majority in excellent light

Low light is better than previous iPhones, but it has *very* aggressive default noise reduction, which can result in some very odd looking background rendering.
 
Nothing to be worried about.

It does what it says on the tin reasonably well but obviously when pitted against a one digit DSLR it has its shortcomings (and advantages too). I find I can use it more at work for general stuff, (because its always in my pocket), but the flash remains useless. I have created my own 'off camera lighting' for such occasions ;)

I dislike some of the 'unnecessary' features (for me) such as 'live' and the pain in having to download everything firstly via an Apple 'Photos' app then move it from there. My wife has quite taken to doing 'processing, straightening and enhancing' on the phone itself but I prefer a full Photoshop palette.

As an 'always on' camera its great and the pics are an improvement over the iPhone 5s. But doesn't 'feel' a lot different.

Apple also developed something called deep trench pixel isolation for the 6s, essentially this prevents the pixels bleeding into each other when tightly packed onto a sensor so it helps combat noise.

If you do a google search I'm sure it'd be explained better.

Also for what it's worth, if you were to buy the 6 plus or 6s plus they also have optical image stabilisation built in.
