iphone vrs point and shoot

hi all,

my phone camera is dire. nowhere as good as an iphone 6 camera, for example. but now i don't need a phone. i would like a camera that can produce decent enough images that i can have in my pocket all the time. i know about the rx100 but it is more than i need really. so something comparable to an iphone but point and shoot for not much more than 100 dollars. i know a lot of you might just say it's rubbish but still... :)
 
What's the point? Going from mediocre to mediocre with a cheap p&s? Why not splash out slightly more for the excellent RX100 mk1 (£240 new) or a Canon S120?

Or look for a used Canon g9,10 etc but you'll still push to get even an old g series Canon for less than £100.

You don't want to have any control over the camera, such as aperture or shutter speed?
 
If sub £100 is your budget, and it needs to be small, I'd seek out a used Canon S90/95/100 or whichever you can get for your money. Very good, very small compacts.
 
My Samsung has left me missing a shot so many times because these things are so slow!

I think Sony is leading the phone camera market by far.

For your budget, I'd agree with the above. And all far superior to a phone camera, given the control they give you.
