im after a 70 200 f4 is L ive seen one for 750 its 2 years old hes selling because hes not used it is it too much as i now there aint many about i can get a new one of kerso for 859 do i dont now *** to do

If I was buying locally then I may go for SH one, but it would need to be 'as new'. I personally would rather buy new than save 'just' £100 on this sort of value.

he reakons its has new the £100 is could go to a 1.4tc but like you said £100 ant a lot to save against a new one i dont now *** to do

Tell him you'll give him 700 for it, bring a body and test , test, test. You will save 159 quid which could be put towards a TC and a UV or other filter.

Personally I would buy one from Kerso new rather than pay £750 for one that is two years old.
I was going to buy one from Kerso but I picked one up las week, manufactured in May 08 and I paid £680.
I agree that these are rare beasts find on the secondhand market and Ian's price is very good.

I dunno what the Canon 70-200 f/4 normally goes for, but the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (the original one, not the VR2) sells used now for only about £800-900.

So, £750 for an f/4 doesn't seem like much of a deal to me. He's always going to get better offers on eBay though. People there generally tend not to look for good deals, and end up in bidding wars. It's a seller's market on there when it comes to photo gear.
