Yes
I know that is a how long is a piece of string question, but I have a i7 920 and I want a games PC and wanted to use it. I will be getting a gtx 650 Titan graphics card, but will the processor be enough (it can be over clocked to 4Ghz easily and I have enough cooling to do so) for games?

My other addition will be an SSD for the system drive.

But do I really need to spend £400 on new processor, mobo and RAM?

Excellent, saves a lot of ****ing about!

What about games like Total War: ROME 2, doesn't it require a decent processor to number crunch all those moves by the other factions at the end of each turn?

I have 3 monitors at work and may go to 3 monitors at home (on this machine).

I went for the Titan partly for the above and also heard it mentioned in various places so it was a safe bet.

Got the PC setup

I7 920
12Gb RAM
256Gb SSD with 2 large drives for data
GE Force 650 Ti
Dual monitors at 1920 x 1080

Playing World of Tanks I get a consistent 50 fops with all settings on Max on 1 monitor. Task manager on monitor showing 20% CPU load while playing.

Impressive :)

I have an i7 930, with 12GB RAM, 2 x 5870 GFX, and I can play all games. Although if I wanted better GFX it's only the old 5870s holding me back.
