Is anyone familiar with this problem, and how to fix it?

One of my lenses will no longer attach to my camera body. I don't want to baffle you all with technical terms but the wee clicky bit no longer clicks into place so the lens won't stay on.

Is this a common problem?

Is it relatively easy to fix?

If so, how?

Any help would be much appreciated.

(Oh and I've posted this in the wrong place, I apologise).

Lost the little screw that acts as an end stop? Compare the mount to another lens

slot in the lens where locking pin goes in - clean?

lens mount buckled?

Without much other info can't offer any more help

I'm pretty sure the problem is with this little fella here...

I think it's meant to click into place but it doesn't really move at all. Maybe it's a spring problem? Or I could be way off altogether.

That little thingy is in the right place in the pic.
Does your one move freely? It should move the 4 to 5mm to the other end of the slot very easily.

I think that's the problem, mine is quite stiff (sorry, couldn't find a way to phrase it that didn't sound like a line from a Carry On film)

I was thinking the same thing with my post :)

The question then becomes, why is it not moving freely? When it is moved anticlockwise the aperture blades open up.
