Just looked at my Nikkor50mm f1.4G. Had it from new and just noticed...Is the M M/A switch on upside down?

If the switch works as indicated then no, probably not - just a design quirk.

Oh it works just fine...but I can't help thinking that I should undo the two screws and turn it "The right way up"!

If it is a problem take out the 2 screws the lift and rotate the switch , probably just some wires behind the switch.

Not a problem...just had it many years and only just noticed! Sure it's an easy fix.

It's a good mod that, push the switch for manual focus and your thumb is straight onto the focus ring, I would leave it and probably use it.

Why turn it around your is unique and a one off from the factory commands higher price.

If it is bothering you then spin it round personally I’d leave as is.

Is there any waterproof sealing behind this ?

Don't think it can be turned around if you look at the difference between top and botton. Different shape for a reason

Doesn't bother me in the least. In all the years I've had it I've never noticed it or had cause to use it.

It's the right way up, they just attached the lens the wrong way
