I bought a 430exii flash a while ago (secondhand, on here). Has been perfect whenever I've needed to use it. It's been a few months since I've played around with it and I've moved house. Dug it out today to use whilst visiting the in-laws, switched it on and got no response. LCD didn't display anything and no whirring sound. Tried two more lots of batteries with no response.
Decided to recharge the batteries and try again. It started up as normal, stayed on for 30 secs and stopped. Tried it again and it stayed on till I fiddled with the zoom setting. In all cases the pilot light hasn't lit up.
Batteries are ansmann 2850 and I've used them for about three recharge cycles.
Not sure if it's just a battery issue or something more sinister. What can I do next?
First point might be to try a set of fresh non rechargeable AA batteries but if this doesn't work what else can I do?
