Yes
Been using a 450D + Grip for ages now no problem. Today when I turn camera on it says

"Change Battery Pack"

I go back to single battery and the same thing happens.

Any ideas??

Not the best day in photography im having! :(

Just to be sure... your batteries are all ok? Maybe try some new AA's in the grip in case it's a problem with the Canon battery?

I took the grip off and used the Canon battery in the slot as per standard. Also tried an unbranded battery. Still no joy. Have not tried the AA route, I will do, but cant see that helping.

As stated try a set off AA's in the grip and do a full reset on the camera, see if that helps

how do I do a reset of camera? I cant do it on the camera menus as it loads instantly to the Change battery pack option.

Can I do it via DPP or canon software?

ok AA batteries do work!! Time for format\reset the camera??

I have reinstalled the firmware 1.1.0 but it will still only take AA batteries? Anybody know why and how I can fix this???

That sounds like your charger has cooked the batteries as they dont work in grip or body.

Cheers for the reply. I can see what your saying, but they worked fine all weekend, and now done work, havent had a charge between. I follow your logic, maybe a drain and recharge might solve it?

Well Ive just put the Canon battery on charge for 5 mins, put it in camera and it worked! So all batteries are getting a recharge.

Im thinking its linked to my flash gun dying on me, something which is in another thread. Could the batteries have taken a whack from the gun??

It does sound like the problem is with the charger or batteries - odd that neither battery works so maybe it's the charger?

Like you say, have a play with them to see if anything helps... at least it's not the camera that's broken!

Is it possible that the button battery is low? The AA's will be a hight voltage (slightly) than the other packs, so might be booting the button battery slightly.
