Yes
I have CyberLink Power Director version 8 and I went to finish off my video and I got a message saying 'an error occurred while trying to open this media file'. So I clicked on ignore, all and now I have nothing but blank spaces and weird symbols. Does that mean I will have to upload my video again? I spent ages editing it, and now its all gone. How do I fix this please?

:annoyed:

It happened when my cousin sent me a message on Yahoo messenger. Do you think that's what done it?

I would do an on-line virus scan just to make sure you haven't picked up something nasty

I'll try it again later. If not, then I might ave to de do it which will be a major hastle for me seeing as I spent so much on it the first time.

Saved after every frame as it sometimes crashes, and its still gone tits up! :help:

Trying Housecall see if that works. I had never heard of it. :)

The Cyberlink forums can be helpful at sorting out problems like this. Worth searching for similar errors before you ask as someone is bound to have had the same problem before you.

V8 is pretty old now. Still worth asking the question there though if even if you don't find the same problem previous.

What do you mean by 'upload' ? do you mean the time line filling up with all your edited clips? Is it saying it can't open the files for those clips? Are they still on your drive where you left them, not moved or anything?

Power director needs to be able to get to the video files all the time. Have you copied the cam files to the hard drive and are they still where power director expects to find them?
