is my zoom lens goosed?

(noob!)
i have a tokina 28-300mm zoom lens. when i tip camera forward, it extends under its own weight!
i imagine this is not normal, any thoughts?

Perfectly normal withmany long range zooms that do not have a zoom lock on them

Not sure re your specific lens, but I had an old 75-300 USM Canon lens use to extend itself all the time - my 70-300 IS lens now has a lock button to hold it closed when not being used.

From reading around it seems that quite a lot of well-used long zooms without a lock do this. Nothing to worry about.
