Hi all
I have just brought a d700 & am concerned that I cant eject it from my pc before unplugging it, all of my previous cameras I have gone to the bottom right hand side, by the clock & clicked an icon to dissconnect devices. This icon is no where to be found when my d700 is plugged in.
Am I missing something, or is the way it is designed?
Thanks for any help recieved.

I just pull the cable. Never ever un-docked as such

You mean "bought" I think?

The D700 uses PTP not USB Mass Storage, which is why the eject icons don't work.

Don't worry about it - just don't do anything silly and unplug it while you are doing something!

Hi Glyn,

I never plug cameras into a pc to dowload. I usually do it by taking the CF out and using a card adapter. Just my preference, but most of the download problems appear to be when people connect their cameras to a pc.

Get yourself a card reader.

Enjoy the D700 it's a great camera.

Chris :)

i connect straight to the computer and use nikon software to download to my pictures.

i set it to auto disconnect but NOT auto delete i then tur it of and unplug.
