Yes
I am going to upgrade my D5000 to a D300s on Tuesday, weather permitting.

I know there is not a lot of difference between them (DPreview.com), but I want the better AF options for a nice clearer and crisper image.

Massive difference between the D5000 and a D300s. ;)

Hi Andy, if you go onto DPreviw and do a side by side comparison the only real difference is the AF points, D300s has 51, whereas the D5000 has only 11 so hopefully should get clearer and crisper IQ. Also FPS and shutter speed.

How about a D700 Martin?

Treated myself to a nice new Crumpler backpack (advance present to self).
Strangely (or maybe not so strangely) the bag was £10 cheaper via Amazon than the exact same thing on Fleabay - go figure ;-)

I've found better deals on other sites than Ebay - Ebay isn't all that cheaper than what some people think it is... I feel that people just think ebay is the be all & end all of everything.... For which it aint...

Fanboi:)

Both my kids have them and love them.

I'll stick with my Android phone. I'm waiting for a decent 10" Android pad.

Hopefully some time with my wife snuggled up in a cottage in France with an open fire and snow.... other than that, i couldn't care less! :)

You'll probably find you only really use the centre focus point, the only time I use the other focus points is non-action photos which is a small % of what I shoot.

However, I'm sure you'll realise when you use it thats its way more impressive than you first thought it would be and well worth the money!

A new lowepro if the rents have been getting my strong hints (i.e. sending of Amazon URLs!).

Santa's come early - November 28th to be exact. Yipee!

Martin, let me know how you get on with it, Im itching to get either that or the 7000, had a play with the 7K in jessops today........:shake: my wallet was taken off me before i went in :naughty:

Having bought myself all the digital and film kit I want but don't necessarily need, I'm hoping for GIMP 2.6 For Photographers. They keep putting back the publish date, so should arrive just as GIMP 2.7 RC is on the web-site!

Your doing it all wrong Phil, when I went and bought my camera my wife paid on HER credit card.....

Will let you know how I get on, my first rugby shoot will probably be the weekend after next when we're at home, otherwise it will be just practice shots around the local woods and in the garden.

I was in the loft on Saturday looking for my ski-ing pants (not that I ski) when I found an old pair of fishing gloves.

They are neoprene and have the fingers slots so you can stick the thumb and forefinger out to shoot with.

I doubt that they will be as warm as the ones above. However I just ordered some silk liners for £6.99 on eBay and I'll see how they go.

Anyway have a look here for the fishing gloves. Lots of similar ones on the interwebzzzz

For outdoor activities have you tried these http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/ outdoor specialists with some great discounts, going to have a look around my local store later this week.

go outdoors are ok, apart from you have to become a member (for a small fee) in order to get the better prices. and then they pepper you with junk mail for ever after! :bonk:

Fame doesn't bother me - I would just like to be rich ....

I emailed them but they said they haven't got stock and don't know when they are coming in.

My wife gave me permission to say 'i wear the trousers round here' :runaway:

;AFC Martin

Get outside and practise taking photos in the snow for when you need it on the rugby field. ;)

Cheers Robin, don't remind me. I don't think we'll be going to Lydney on Saturday. Probably after all this snow we'll have floods.

Don't they play Forest Rules Rugby down there in Lydney? Once got my head caved in there in a Colts match. Was 25 years ago though.

He was originally bringing me a nice Canon 100mm f2.8 macro. That has just been changed tonight to a Canon 50D arriving on thursday!! :D

I hope I get that North Face jacket I've got my eye on!

Have you given hints and a url for it to your BF?

Men NEED clear instructions :D
