I keep reading sites that say the canon 50D suffers from a lot of noise due to the 15 mps,

people with 50ds is this true or mere hearsay?
 
Yes I try not to shoot above 800. 800 can be noisy depending if you're shooting into shadow or not. But I will say that ISO 800 and lower it is an outstanding camera.

I love mine anyway :love:

Seriously a lot depends on nailing the exposure, if you can do that you will find that the "noise" is less evident, plus there are that many noise reduction programs out there I do not see that it would be a major issue.

The 50D is a seriously good camera, that will produce really good images, if it does not it is operator error.
