Is the X100T still a good shout as my DSLR backup?

Very true Fuji do seem to listen I have had an Xpro1 and Xt1

I'd still get X100T in your situation.

A lens is just that, a lens. You are only gaining a new focal length, a new lens for your ever growing collection. A new camera (lens + body) gives you new colours (Fuji colours), new way to take photos (new VF) and new feel (feel of camera, no PASM dial), together hopefully give you a new perspective.
 
Well I didn't start the thread but you've made me want an X100......

Mind you my XT10 and 18mm is pretty compact...

I think that's a good idea, although, in my opinion, the faster af of the S made it a better option for me. Fantastic image quality, 100% crops right in the corners look perfect. You don't need a zoom lens on these....
 
Re: the next Fuji model number, the rumours suggest more than just internal upgrades this time so they'll probably bump it to x200 or something like that.
 
I shot another photographer's wedding on Saturday and borrowed his X100T to try out for the day. Despite the fact that 95% of the shots I took that day were on the D750, one of my favourite shots was taken with the X100T. I came home and told my OH that I was thinking about grabbing one and she just rolled her eyes (as usual).

I've owned X10, X20, X-Pro1 and X-T1 so I'm very familiar with the system and it didn't take long to get to grips with the X100T. :)

Don't get me wrong I've had the rx100 and it's a great pocket camera but I sold it and bought a x100s. I have it on a peak design slide strap and the handling and quality over the rx100 is no comparison.
 
On the more expensive side there's the Sony A7 Ii with a 35mm. For street you're probably fine with an older adapted manual lens.

Did they fix the terrible parallax correction with the X100T? In the X100s the AF point never aligned properly and the frame only shifted after focusing. Which made the OVF pretty useless, I thought.

Love this shot I have a few events coming up soon as well,I might well pick one of these up.
 
Not sure I agree with the Fuji firmware support, maybe on some models more than others. They hugely improved the x100 and x-t1, but I don't feel they did a lot for the x100s or the xe2 other than a few minor tweaks or support their own lenses. Also seems to suggest that they didn't get the best from their hardware in the first instance. I love the Fuji cameras, and I think the x100t is the most accomplished but once they have a new model I doubt they'll do anything to hugely improve the model before like the original x100 (and stopped people buying the S).

Never knew they had a problem with them,i was looking at one.:eek:
