Is there a new version of the Canon EF-S 10-22 Due soon?

I was wondering why the current version has suddenly dropped from around £610 to £499, it seems a big drop for no obvious reason?

Only £20 more than buying from DigitalRev and you can get a two year guarantee if bought from John Lewis

The ef-s 10-22 is now down to £439 on Amazon, that's grey import money, sorely tempted, if only i could justify to the better half...
