Is there a teleconverter that fits the Canon 70-300 DO lens?

Yes
The Canon teleconverters don't fit as the lens protrudes. Does anybody know if any of the other makes of teleconverter might fit please?

Thanks, Mel

Searched web for "Kenko" and they have a table which indicates compatibility - will take lens + 5DMkIII into Park Cam and try the combination out.

I wouldn't bother, it would show up the weaknesses of the lens.

Ho Ho! Your are probably right - but it's such a good travel lens.

Great travel lens, perfect size, but it has its issues and a TC would show those flaws up.

I am toying with buying a 100-400 lens (NEW type when rush over and price drops a bit)) and also a telconverter, so I thought I would get on the would work with both lenses

I would tend to agree with this.

I'd also add a question - what's the likely final use for the shots taken at >300mm? If it's purely for web use or small prints, cropping into the 300mm image will give the extra (apparent) reach at a similar (possibly even better) quality to shots using the Kenko telecom. (To qualify this opinion, I have a Kenko telecom which I have used behind Nikon 70-300 lenses on a selection of bodies and no longer use the thing - the extra reach it gives comes with too heavy a price in terms of IQ.)

Thanks for your thoughts guys - now pondering life, the universe and everything!
