Is there an upgraded D300s on the way

Hi & A Happy New Year to you all,

I had decided to upgrade my camera body from D3100 to D7000 but then got to thinking if an upgraded D300s were to appear any time soon that may be the way to go.

Does anyone here have any insider information as to the likelihood of an upgrade happening this year?

I did see a rumour of an announcement 6th Jan, but I think this was for a D4 ... may be worth holding fire for a week, or google Nikon rumours for full specifications :D
 
i think d300s may have an high chance for an upgrade. The D300s sells for under 1k pretty much in most place and i've also read somewhere on the Nikon that if you buy a D300s they give free hard drive i think.

I personal think D400 and D4 will be rerlease more than the D800 ......
 
I think the D800 and D4 first and then the D400 later this year, something will be announced before the PMA starting 8th Jan.

Probably best if I'm not too hasty. I'm sure I can sit it out a little longer with the D3100
