is this a dead pixel ?

only noticeable above about f11, its slap bang in the centre on the image, i know theres a small dust spot but its the pale circle dead centre im concerned about ?

AFAIK a hot pixel would never be that large. Oil spot or flare?

That's not a dead pixel - more likely as twist says an oil spot on your sensor.. Maybe time for a clean? Is it the same with all of your lenses?

emm odd, only have 2 lenses and seem to be just on one, although not doing it on my other body..

will give lens another good clean, only being paranoid as just bought this body today..

Not the dust bunny, the giant blue blob next to it.

thanks, it is the lens thats marked and not the sensor after all, but there is a stubborn dust spot that wont move with the blower so think it will need a proper sensor clean anyway..

i think to leave that kind of mark whatever is on the lens would be obviously visible and probably on the rear element

a mark or even a sizeable airbubble in one of the rear glass elements. If it is still under warranty it is a definite repair / return claim.
