Is this a fair deal?

So I have recently developed an interest in photography and am in the market for a decent DSLR. I already own a 350D but that seems to belong to the wife despite being paid for by myself.
Anyway I was going to sell my 2.4GHz unibody macbook to fund a new camera. I was looking for something in the market of a 40D or maybe a D90.... After a few fallen through sales I have had someone offer to swap their 40D thats in mint condition with a 18-55mm IS lens and its still under warranty. Just wondering what you guys thought. The macbook is the higher end model and has 3GB of ram and would also include a crumpler cheesy disco bag. Should I hold for something better?

If you already have a Canon, it makes some sense to stick with them.

How much is the macbook worth (research on other forums, AVforums, Ebay)

I would think a alloy macbook to be worth more than that myself. I would think sell macbook and buy a camera rather than make a trade.

Yeah, Thats what I'm thinking at the moment....
Realistically, the Macbook is worth about £850 with the bag, but had it on ebay and
a few other sites and had no takers......
