Is this Manfrotto offer worth it??

Depending on what you want a tripod for, both of these Manfrotto units are damn good Tripods.

As the offer is for a FREE head to go with a tripod you must already have bought then how can it not be a good idea to send off your receipt to receive a head :shrug:

Granted, they say the head is worth £121.95 when in fact on WE own website its selling for £94.95, but as I said, if your getting the tripod anyway its still a FREE head :thumbs:
 
Very true, just wondered what people thought of the joystick type of head.....
 
I'd check the weight carrying capacity of the head Steve...Just to make sure it is suitable for your needs...The tripod is really good...the only downside it the weight of it, as its quite light, it needs to be secured down in the wind....
 
With the joystick head, do you have to dismantle it to get it in a bag?

I bought the Jessops carbon fibre tripod last week and found I had to take the head apart to put it in the carry bag, so that put me off, so I returned it and got my money back.
 
It's a good offer if you want that particular head.

They're a bit of acquired taste. Very fast to use, great for that, but they're quite big and heavyish, not that strong if you hang a lot of weight off the side and hard to position accurately for critical work.

I bought two in a moment of madness, sold one and never use the other, but some folks swear by them.
 
You could always simply sell the head on the classifieds here - someone who wants one of them gets a new head for used price, you get a decent 'rebate' on the tripod!
 
I currently have a very cheap tripod that I bought years ago from Argos, It has a 3 way head on it. I guess I'm not really sure on what each head is good for, I plan to use the tripod mainly for macro photography and long exposure shots of the night sky.

I have a 450d at the moment and will use it with my Canon 100mm macro lens for erm.. the macro work and my Canon 15-85 lens for sky work. Based on this combo would the joystick head be sufficent or should I do what Faldrax mentioned and sell the joystick head and get another head..... arrhhhh:bonk:
