Is this mould?

I've never had mould on a lens before but I've noticed a small mark inside the front element of this lens.

It's not very visible in normal light, which was why I didn't spot it when I picked it up from Calumet but is it actually mould or something else?

Difficult to tell with that shot - does it look crystalline or fibrillated?

Doesn't look like mould to me,it more look like something on the internal of the lens rather than the glass

Same here,don't think it's mold but if you Google lens mold there are some good examples to compare with

I'd say it's more fibrillated but it doesn't quite look like any other examples I've seen on Google image search and of course I really don't want it to be mould so I don't trust my own opinion. I would have said it's actually dust but it's all in one very small spot.

That's not mould. Buy an M42 lens off ebay and you'll instantly know what mould is.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that, doesn't look like fungus and even if it is it won't cause any bother for a long time.
