ISO bug in my 500D

I think I've found a slightly annoying bug in my camera, when I put it on manual and set the aperture and shutter and I tend to put the ISO on auto; now it should be auto but it always seems to set to 400 which is a royal pain in the backside, why doesn't it use 800+? One for a bit of investigation I see unless I'm missing some setting somewhere.

It's not a bug.

From memory 400 is what you will get - If you are using the camera in Manual mode then you would be using the ISO manually too rather than using ISO auto.

I'm sure this has cropped up with the 5D mark 2

God, all the Nikon users moan that auto iso stays auto when you goto manual mode and now Canon users are moaning that it's the opposite!

i never use auto iso on my 5d2, but the 5d2 does this too. it also goes to iso 400 if you turn the flash on. just set iso manually. you'll get more predictable results in the long run too. auto iso has a habit of catching you out when you least expect it and underexposing (in my experience).
