hey people........hoping someone can aswer this for me.

I have a Sony A450 and im getting used to using it in manual now. I have just been looking at how high im happy to have my ISO when shooting.

ive found im happy with 3200 however i notice when i use the auto the camera will pick an ISO setting which is not available to me in manual.

so the Sony has:
200
400
800
1600
3200
6400
12800

but as i say, when i try it in auto(i dont use auto) it gives an ISO of say 500???

any ideas
 
Check your custom functions/manual for setting ISO in thirds of stops
 
I have a feeling that camera, in manual ISO, uses 1EV steps and in auto the ISO can be in much finer steps.
