The idea for this shoot was to get the snake realigning it jaws.

If it worked I would have had its fangs fully exposed.

It didnt so I had to settle for this tonight.

WOW, that's gruesome in an odd sort of way but a fantastic photo...what sort of snake is it by the way?

When you get this right, it's going to be stunning! Can I suggest raising the light a bit though (if possible). I just think it would look more natural falling down on the snake, and you would get better exposure on the eye (here it is lost slightly in shadow). You should still be able to get enough light on those fangs though when they make an appearance ;)
