For starters, I'm a rank amateur - total novice! I enjoy my photography for me, and I don't want or need to make money from it.

But the marketing guys in the local authority where I work approached me asking to buy some images. They had been commissioned to produce a leaflet of the birds in a local park, and they searched flickr for examples and inspiriation and every one they thought they liked the look of was mine. A bit of wheeling and dealing later and I provided 16 bird images to the organisation for a fee each to be made into this leaflet and a inf board on the path on the way inot the park :)

I'm quite chuffed :)

And to top that off, I got home today to find an email from the BBC Springwatch team asking to use an image of mine for an quiz they plan to hold on ladybirds - free of charge, but all copyrights and credits remain with me - and being a Springwatch fan, I obviously agreed as I don't mind them using any of my images.

From having no images used EVER, to now this in a few days is very encouraging for me and I thought I'd tell you all about it!
