From Nikon to Canon :D

I've now got the 40D, 70-200mm F4 L and 24-105mm F4 L

It's been a HELL week or so. Selling all my Nikon stuff and buying new has been seriously hard work. I've had PM's coming out of my ears!!!!
But now, it's been worth every second.
My 2 lenses and 40D are simply amazing.

Both lenses have just blown my mind with how nice they are.
Build quality beats anything I've used yet. (Although Sigma EX lenses come second)
And the 24-105mm is just so goddamm well, AMAZING :love:

Here's my first shot with it from this evening:

And the 70-200 F4 L is pretty bloody special too!!
Stacks lighter than the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8, and although I don't now have the luxury of the F2.8 (I only ever used it on F4-F8 anyway) I no longer will have neck-ache carry it around!!!

Anyway, that's enough from a very proud and happy me for now :woot:

Right nobody lend him a go of a Pentax, Olympus, Samsung or Casio or we will have another bout of this is my new baby from him. :lol:

Andy i dont want to here anymore of the 24-105! My camera bag just doesnt look right without it!! ;) Chuffed your happy with the change though!!

Good shot though mate is it easy to switch sides or do you still go for the Nikon layout on the Canon

Actually Pete I now prefer the Canon layout side of it.
The wheel on the back is brilliant, the focus system, although there's less points is nicer. Easy to change the points too.
The Nikon was too easy! The amount of shots I missed because my nose pressed the button was huge!!

And the main reason for changing was the high ISO performance. I've seen a vast difference in this. I done some shots on 800 the other day (see here) and there's noise there, but it's nowhere near as bad as the D200.
I think all the shots of Roxy was shot at 800.

I'm impressed!

They are pukka.
They just ooze quality. But then I'm Nikon's top of the range lenses do too!
 
I must admit i am going the other way i use to have a canon 350D film camera and i am about to take delivery of a Nikon D200

Only joking! Nothing wrong with the D200. It served me well, gave me some cracking shots, and I'm a seriously fussy b****r :lol:

Anyone would think I'm a pro, all my moaning about noisy shots :lol:

Well I'm glad he did, otherwise I wouldn't have got so much joy from the Sigma 30mm 1.4 that I bought off him a couple of weeks ago :cool:

Leave the Boy alone, he is venerable at this point in his life and could easily switch over to Pentax if we are not careful, the poor confused soul. Keep shooting the Canon Andy and show them you are getting over it all now Mate. I can guide you Mate but there is a fine line between guiding and interfering and I know the Nikonians over step the mark sometimes but that is just the way they are. If it all get too much just lay down and think Sony ;)
