I tell you being on this forum is making my bank manager very unhappy.

After reading about Currys selling off the D300 at a reduced price I popped into my local, and with a certain relief, they had none left.
I was working in Swindon a couple of weeks ago and took a casual look in Currys there, Oh no, they had one. I managed to leave the shop without it to give myself serious thinking time, but on Thursday I went back to buy it. Sadly it had been sold but there was one in Cheltenham. I found myself driving up there in rush hour and came back with a D300 and MB-D10 grip.

Now all I have to do is explain why, to the wife when she returns from a visit to her parents today.

Previously I caught the D90 bug, both lovely cameras though.

You will not regret it one bit, I love my d300. Out of control from new forest.

You will be very happy with it. Being out of control doesn't always make you a bad person.

Congrats. Excellent camera. You enjoy! Come shopping with me some time. You're wife will be grateful that you only bought these then! :D

I also caught the D300 bug.My plan had been to upgrade to a D90 from my D50.Then I thought blow it I don,t need video I will skip a rung of the ladder and go for the 300.I wanted to buy in person at a shop so it was a while before I could locate one.I tried to get Jessops to transfer one to Leicester from one of their branches that still had one in stock. They said they would but messed me about for a week.In the end I said forget it I will sort it myself.I spoke to a very helpful young lady at the Rugby branch and told her I knew that Northhampton still had one in stock. In less than twelve hours she did what head office had been promising to do for over a week, and had it transferred to her branch. The next morning at 10-15am they rang to say it had arrived.I drove the sixteen miles to Rugby and finally got my hands on it plus a 18-200vr lens.I returned £1,600 poorer but very happy.
Thanks Sarah.

I caught the D300 bug once it was cured by getting a D300 but then I had the D700 bug, these bugs just keep coming

I was just about to get a D300 when the D700 was announced last year, so waited a couple of weeks and got D700. This weekend i went to currys in Poole and picked up their D300 demo with 164 clicks on it.
